MOT Tester Qualifications - Next Steps
VT8 Final vehicle examiner observation
Once you’ve passed your Award in MOT testing you will need to contact DVSA to arrange your final observation (VT8). The test normally takes under 2 hours and your allowed 3 mistakes.
If you need support with booking your VT8 we offer a package that includes a days training just on your MOT routine the day before your DVSA vehicle examiner observation. This 7 hours training drills into you a flawless routine as well as offers valuable practice on a one to one basis with an experienced NT (nominated tester). You will be trained on the ramps emission machine brake rollers and beam testers as well as a routine which we know the DVSA approve.
Then the next morning the DVSA watch you do a demo test. Once you pass this last observation they sign you off there and then as an MOT Tester”
If you do not have a sponsor then The MOT Tester Training Company can offer you full support through the VT8 sponsorship stage.
